As a thank you for being a part of Fly Fisher Fitness, I am offering you my new eBook.
The free download is through BookFunnel, an intuitive, easy to use no-cost app.
This book is designed to be brief and focused. Single pointed to movement and application, not sitting around reading.
Enjoy it. I welcome your suggestions and feedback, if so moved.
You can also find the book on my website.
Going forward, you’ll receive this newsletter every month as a blast of information, with science, tips, ideas and motivation…… Anything related to keeping your strength, stamina and vitality primed for fly-fishing and life in the outdoors.
I will share my aging practitioner journey, all that I have learned. Why? I am on the path to age with strength and vigor–increasing stamina as I get older. Discovering what to do took years. The information was hard to find and even harder to decipher and put into practical application. I will share what I’ve learned.
The reality is your doctor has a place in your journey but doctors cannot be your personal trainer or your nutritionist. And let’s face it, the aging body requires more than the banal, “Eat your greens, avoid excess sugar and move more.”
I know it’s hard to stay motivated and committed with exercise, nutrition–careful eating and living, especially if you have to search for what to do. Staying strong and vital becomes too much of an upstream slog.
Think of this as your personal motivation, quick tips and reminders to make every effort to build health.

I strive to use a multidimensional approach toward staying physically strong and flexible. That includes mental pliability–thoughts, what I believe leads directly to the actions I take. To that end, I hired a Yoga Instructor for a private lesson of yoga on the beach. I recommend Terri Reese. She has virtual programs that will fit your schedule, no year-long commitments. terrireese@me.com & https://www.facebook.com/terrireeseyogainstructor/
I also attended a chair workout as a part of my certification as an Older Adult Fitness Trainer. It was just as invigorating as the yoga lesson, powerful and informative too. Search online for chair workouts that fit your needs. If you attend, you will not be disappointed. There is so much available at our fingertips and with the versatility and ease of scheduling, minimal effort is required. All you have to do is show up!
Are you interested in being part of an active and encouraging community of outdoor types interested in aging better than the status quo? I am in the early stages of building this community on Substack. We will have conversations about growing older and we will engage around the challenges and fun of staying strong, fit and resilient through the aging process. You will find encouragement for updating your lifestyle.
Contact me your ideas, suggestions and comments.
Forward this newsletter to anyone you know who may enjoy it.
