My Interview on Carolina Outdoors (short, 15 minutes)

Interview on Carolina Outdoors

My interview on Carolina Outdoors with Bill Bartee and Wes Lawson was exhilarating. These guys are passionate about the outdoors and they know flyfishin

You can feel it when you work with great people. The energy, enthusiasm, curiosity is so contagious it elevates your game. I got better by responding to their great questions.

Of course, we know fitness isn’t a favorite topic but on the other hand, the U.S. leads overall spending in the Physical Activity Market ($828 Billion). We make the effort because this $828 Billion are essentially the sales of more ‘product’ to the same individuals and not introducing more, new audiences of people to fitness.

That’s why we need a revolution. Still today, only about one-quarter of adults aged 18 and over meet the physical activities guidelines for both aerobic and resistance training. But Bill and Wes have joined The Revolution.

Imagine flyfishing into your 90s!

I have always viewed fly fishers as the ultimate outdoors people—curious, intelligent, patient and crafty like MacGyver. Bringing their innovation for flyfishing to Fly Fisher Fitness gives The Revolution traction.

It’s not pie-in-the-sky, it’s possible! The kind but firm older gentleman who threw my doughball into the dumpster and tied on my first fly was 85-years-old. He waded the aptly-named Slippery Rock Creek like a 30-year-old. I asked him what his secret was and he said, “when you get older, things happen to your body. How you maneuver and comport yourself as you age can serve or subvert. I work feverishly following the belief that there’s always something you can do to improve.”

The strenuous life tastes better. William James

Many thanks to Bill and Wes and I hope we get to talk again.
